CLYNK is a Maine company that began with a mission to make recycling easier for everyone. We believe that if we can make it easy to return your bottles and cans, you'll recycle more. More recycling is good for Maine and good for the planet.

Since we opened our doors in the Spring of 2006, thousands of customers have signed up for CLYNK accounts and kept millions of bottles and cans out of landfills, forests and streams (and got money for doing it!).

Maine returnables can be redeemed for 5¢ or 15¢ depending on the container, but until now it required either feeding them one by one into a machine, or waiting while your containers are counted by hand.

Enter CLYNK.

The secret to CLYNK is in the bag… and, well, on the bag. IN our trademark green bags go your Maine returnable bottles and cans, and ON the bags you place a sticker with your personal barcode. You just bring it to a participating Hannaford location, and we do the rest. That's it. Just drop it off. No counting. No waiting. No mess.

CLYNK picks up all the bags daily, and our automated equipment scans your barcode, counts your returnables, and credits your CLYNK account. Review your account online and access your funds with your CLYNK Card at a CLYNK Kiosk at Hannaford – the same one, or any other participating store. Your bottles and cans are then sorted and crushed and turned into clothing, playground equipment, and housing materials among other things.
