As reported yesterday by some news outlets, CLYNK will be closing its Biddeford, Maine processing facility in the coming months as part of a broader effort to modernize and strengthen our recycling operations.
We want to reassure our customers that will continue serving Maine customers, and you can keep using your CLYNK bags and drop-off locations as usual.
This transition is part of a longer-term investment in a more modern, reliable recycling system that will improve service and help support Maine’s Bottle Bill for years to come. We’ll share more details in the coming weeks, and we appreciate your continued trust in CLYNK.

CLYNK to Give is CLYNK’s community-centric program that unites non-profit organizations and causes with civic-minded consumers to enable “bottle drive” fundraising and community giving at scale. We work with thousands of charities, helping them raise funds to support important causes and provide essential services locally. In addition to traditional “bottle drives,” CLYNK members can give “virtually” by either directing funds from their CLYNK accounts or enrolling in a Bag Donation Event whereby a member’s bag drops during a fundraising campaign gets credited to the cause they support
CLYNK to Give participants provide services everywhere in Maine and New York, ranging from environmental stewardship to animal welfare, housing and homelessness, schools and education, hunger and poverty, youth sports, public health, and everything in between. In 2024 alone, nonprofits and causes have returned 11,431,285 beverage containers, ensuring they were recycled into high-quality materials while raising $5.5 million to support their efforts in a single year.

What CLYNK does for our Homeless (Hope for Homeless, Inc) is provide HOPE and necessities for our homeless. We collect the funds from CLYNK to fund our Warming Centers. CLYNK provides an overnight place in the Winter during Maine winters, that are safe and warm. (These folks live outside 24/7, our shelters are 100% full) They can come in after 6PM, get a chair or mat for the night, get a hot meal, snacks and even hot coffee, tea or cocoa. There are trained folks to offer them further assistance if they wish for it.

CLYNK to Give offers a fundraising solution to those who do not fit typical donation criteria, for example, sports teams, churches, and individuals; the platform equally supports well-known 501c3 organizations.
How can I donate to a CLYNK to Give account?
You can donate to your favorite charity in two ways:
Traditional – Chances are your favorite cause orders bags and tags through CLYNK. If they do, you can contact them to receive their account-specific bag tags. Adhere their tags to your bags and the credit will be directly applied to their account.
Digitally – Accumulate funds in your personal CLYNK account. When you’re ready, log in to your online CLYNK account and visit the “Donations” tab. Under “Donate Part or All of Your Balance”, search for your desired charity. Click their name and click on the green “Choose Amount” button. Enter how much you’d like to donate and click “Continue” Confirm the amount and you’re done! The other digital option is enrolling in a Bag Donation Event whereby a member’s bag drops during a fundraising campaign gets credited to the Cause they support.
